Alex Grande
Alex is an experienced and visionary leader who is able to translate vision into sound strategy and program development. He intuitively binds together patterns of opportunity from stakeholder views to present a coherent perspective that can then be challenged to extend thinking for material business advantage. Using creative storytelling, is he able to inspire and motivate individuals and teams into action based on business cases that are grounded in tangible business metrics. Alex leads from the front and ensures all voices are heard to support effective and credible decision making. He has expertise to secure strategic financing partners and in establishing governance boundaries necessary for successful technical enabled business change.
Examples of Alex's most recent work has provided Industry, Strategy & Product Development Advisory services to organizations in the Utility & Smart Cities sector harnessing the power of the Internet of Things (IoT) who collectively have been engaged in successful smart cities technology projects with a number of local government authorities across Australia.
Previously, as Head of M2M & IoT at Telstra – Australia’s leading Telecommunication and Service Provider – Alex led the business case, development and introduction of Australia’s first IoT solution. During this time, Alex drove the acquisition of market share from Telstra’s largest competitors, repositioning Telstra as a recognized and credible IoT player for the domestic and global markets. Earlier Alex rose through the ranks of Telstra transitioning from technology to product and marketing. He began his career as technology specialist with Telstra. Alex holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical & Electronics (Telecommunication & Business & Finance) from the University of Victoria. Alex serves on several Global Industry Standards Associations.
